Connection Failed Client Out of Date Resolved
On November 24, 2020, the day of the Fallout 76 update, players couldn’t connect to the multiplayer matches after downloading a hefty 14 GB update, which contained new content.
Since then players have been complaining about the “Client out of date” error message on the official Bethesda boards, where the developer relied with the following message:
The error occurred due to timing issues in the update itself, which, as already mentioned, was supposed to come out on December 1, 2020. Since Bethesda was not able to change the inner clock of the update, which was the root of the problem, they simply released the Steel Dawn and Shelters update a week earlier to the joy of Fallout 76 players with the following message:
As promised, six hours later the new update has been launched and the issue was fully resolved.
