With the release of Wastelanders, the Overseer is ready to get all of those holotapes you’ve been collecting. Luckily, unlike the mysterious cave code that gets you into Vault 79, the Gauley Mine keypad combination isn’t random. It’s the same for all players.

Fallout 76 Gauley Mine Keypad Code

Instead of looking all over the mine for the keycode itself, here it is:

071990

At this point in the game, you probably don’t really need the supplies that are secreted away in the Gauley Mine. But then again, loot is loot and explosives are explosives. If you’re still early on in Fallout 76, you’ll definitely want to grab the goodies inside the locked cage.

Gauley Mine Location

Haven’t found Gauley Mine yet? Just head southwest of Morgantown trainyard in The Forest region and cross the river. Keep heading southwest until hit the railroad tracks and follow them south. Gauley Mine will eventually pop up on your right.

For more landmarks, it’s southeast of the Landview Lighthouse. Cross the river and the railroad tracks and you should see it. If you’re coming from the south, it’s just northwest of Slocum’s Joe.

The exact location is circled in the image at the top of this guide.

Gauley Mine Cage Location

Enter the mine and follow the minecart track all the way down until it dead ends. You’ll kill two moles rats and turn right at the dead-end to go through a tunnel in the wall. You’ll eventually enter an open area with catwalks and machinery.

Take out the enemies and go down into the bottom of this area. The cage is built into the wall in the back. It is to the right of a workbench, and it has a door on it. The keypad is to the right of the door.

Be Careful of Scorched

If you’re playing Wastelanders, you probably don’t have to be worried about Scorched, but it’s still worth noting that Gauley Mine is overrun with them, as well as Scorched Wanderers. Bringing a ranged weapon is a good idea.

What About the Gauley Mine ID Card?

Wastelanders brings a lot of new content to Fallout 76. Some additions are very obvious, like ally quests. Other additions are less so. The ID card door in Gauley mine is of the latter variety.

Unfortunately, you probably can’t open it quite yet. However, it comes naturally as you progress through Wastelanders. Eventually, you’ll find yourself back in the mine opening up the ID-locked door in no time.

That’s all you need to know about the Fallout 76 Gauley Mine keypad code. For more on the post-apocalyptic quasi-MMO, be sure to check out our other Fallout 76 guides.
